Routine: A Road to Excellence

Routines are routes to your excellence. do you lack it?

THE WHAT

Routines are actions we perform regularly, typically as a series of steps that yield tangible or perceptible results. Whether it’s afternoon siestas, power naps, non-sleep deep rest (NSDR), brushing our teeth, putting on clothes, or tying our shoes, these daily activities—whether conscious or unconscious—are part of our routines. While some are habits, routines themselves are more focused on self improvement. They are carried out according to an individual’s unique needs and preferences.

Your most important routine, is what you do in the first 120 minutes of your day!

LINGUISTIC ANALYSIS

routine (n.)

"customary course of action; more or less mechanical performance of certain acts or duties," 1670s, from French routine "usual course of action, beaten path" (16c.), from route "way, path, course" (see route (n.)) + noun suffix -ine (see -ine (1)).

NuNetic Break Down

Every letter in every language has an inherent, universal meaning. They are founded on the comparative connections between sounds produced in the human mouth. NuNetics examines each letter through its literal, environmental, and abstract meanings, ultimately providing the most accurate description of words. Generally, the consonants is where our focus is in this analysis.

RouTiNe = R - T - N

The 'R' sound comes through the use of our tongue (Liquid)
The 'T' sound comes through the use of our teeth (Dental)
The 'N' sound comes from the use of the nose (Nasal)

  1. R represents the front of the head and the roundness of the face, symbolizing momentum and cyclical things, and abstractly conveys the idea of authority, command, and leadership.
    1. This implies the ability to make decisions and to plan, both of which are central to establishing any routine.
    2. Generally, routines are repeated, cyclical by nature, something we do for the purpose of a benefit.
    3. For a routine to function, it must be commanded and guided by the leadership of our conscious thinking.
  2. T represents hair, particularly when groomed or plucked, symbolizing a connection or tether between two entities, and abstractly conveys the idea of interdependence, ties, and relationships that bind or support mutual benefit.
    1. In a routine, each action is linked to the next, just as strands of hair can be woven or groomed into a specific order.
    2. A routine is not random; it connects one action to another in a meaningful way. This connection is what gives a routine its reciprocity, much like how a tether binds things together.
    3. Each step in a routine depends on the previous one and sets the stage for the next. This interdependence is crucial for the routine to function effectively and consistently to produce a benefit/result.
  3. N represents the life germ seed or spermatozoa, symbolizing upward movement and ease in spreading, and abstractly conveys the potential for growth, manifestation, and the unfolding of ideas.
    1. Much like how a seed grows into a plant over time, a routine fosters progress and development through repetition and consistency.
    2. This reflects how routines are not just static, repetitive actions; rather, they are dynamic processes that unfold over time, allowing for the gradual manifestation of goals or objectives.

Overall Interpretation

The word "routine" can be understood as a structured course of actions (R) that are interconnected and linked together (T), leading to consistent growth and manifestation over time (Noon).

A routine involves conscious regulation, steady repetition, and the potential to shape our attitudes. Our thoughts and feelings influence our actions. Our actions, when repeated, become our behaviors. Our behaviors, when repeated, become our attitude. Routines can assist in reorienting our life towards excellence.

THE HOW

Routines provide a route that lead you some where. Generally speaking, routines produce tangible and perceivable benefits. One could take a power nap or do NSDR in their everyday after-noon for the purpose of rejuvenation so that they can continue on with their day in an efficient manner.

The most important part of your day is how and when you start it!

I will provide you with a basic template / blue print and some resources. The basis of which are routines to implement. All routines SHOULD, by description, produce for you tangible and perceivable results.

Period 1: Your first 2-4 hours of your day, wield significant influence over your circadian rhythm, energy, and efficiency.

Key Elements of Period 1:

  1. Make your Bed: That's your first routine to do every day!
  2. Get Sunlight Exposure: Aim for 90,000 lux before 9 am.
  3. Increase in Body Temperature: rapid exercises like push-ups, jumping jacks.
  4. Caffeine Delay: Wait 90-120 minutes before ingesting any coffee/tea.

For early risers, use automated lights that mimic sunrise, but! make sure you still get sunlight exposure! At 03:50 the lights turn on at 1% intensity and graduate to 100% over the course of an hour. This is my unnatural natural alarm clock.

Bright lights in your home do no replace the necessity to get sunlight. So be sure to get yours before 0900.

Be flexible so you can accommodate for the seasons.

How can I reorient my environment to facilitate a routine?

Organize: A Template for Success
Organize. Organ. Your Organs are PERFECTLY structured to maintain your very being. Think about it.

THE ANTI MORNING ROUTINE: I DO THIS!

I usually begin by taking 15-30 minutes to get started (bathroom, making the bed) THEN do something productive, such as my most important task of the day, for the first 1-2 hours.. Which induces a sustainable state of productivity.

This is also beneficial to watch: shape the routine around you

I DO NOT agree with EVERYTHING he said but most of the information is solid. All if which will only get you to think, and by acting upon these different and "new" thoughts, you should, ideally, see a benefit.
